Eye examination with OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
What is OCT?
Eye examinations using an optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) machine are a type of imaging device that uses light to create cross-sectional images of the retina. This machine uses light to shine into the eye to create cross-sectional images of the retina in 2D and 3D , allowing the doctor to clearly see the thickness of the retinal layer and any abnormalities.
Advantages of OCT (CIRRUS 6000) examination
- Easy and quick check
- No pain, no radiation exposure, and no injections.
- Helps to better monitor and evaluate treatment.
- Capture images with a resolution of up to 0.01 millimeters.
- Accurately detect and analyze diseases
What conditions can it be used to diagnose and monitor?
- Diabetic retinopathy

- Macular rupture
- Retinal detachment
- Macular edema
- Retinal and macular fibrosis
- Retinal vascular disease
- Glaucoma
- There is a risk in people over 40 years of age.
